Exxon Mobile Shute Creek
Since beginning operations in 1986, ExxonMobil's Shute Creek Treating Facility near Kemmerer has been a cornerstone of Wyoming's energy industry and a major contributor to the state's economy. The facility processes a unique mixed gas stream produced from the LaBarge field, separating and marketing natural gas, carbon dioxide, helium, and other valuable products used by industries across the nation. Shute Creek is recognized as one of the world's largest natural gas processing facilities and a leading source of helium, an essential resource for a range of advanced technologies. The facility has also been a pioneer in carbon capture and storage technologies, advancing innovation in energy production and emissions management. Shute Creek supports hundreds of Wyoming jobs, generates significant state and local tax revenues, and remains an important driver of economic growth and prosperity in southwest Wyoming.
Pine Creek Ski Resort
Pine Creek Ski Resort is a true hidden gem for skiers and snowboarders. With over 32 ski runs across 640 skiable acres, Pine Creek caters to all skill levels with a balanced terrain mix of 30% beginner, 30% intermediate, and 40% advanced runs. With a summit of 8,225’ and a 1,450’ vertical drop, the mountain receives an impressive average annual snowfall of 300”+.
The season typically runs from mid-December to early April, with standard operating hours from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm Friday through Sunday. Bonus public operating days include winter holiday breaks plus MLK Jr. Day and Presidents Day. Days not open to the public are available for full mountain rental.
The day lodge includes a rental shop (skis, snowboards, boots, helmets, etc.), retail shop (stock up on our famous logo merch and handy cold weather accessories), and grill. Smash burgers and fresh-cut fries help visitors fuel up for a long day on the mountain.

Nestled in Kemmerer, Wyoming — ground zero for some of the world's finest fossil deposits — Wyoming Fossils is home to the largest fossil gallery and rock shop in the state. Located right downtown in the historic Sawaya's building at 921 Pine Avenue, and sitting in the heart of the world-famous Green River Formation, we're perfectly positioned to bring you fossils and minerals sourced with care, expertise, and a deep respect for the land they come from.
Our team brings combined decades of experience collecting and preparing fossils. Step into our gallery and you'll find specimens from all over the world — and even out of this world, with meteorites among our rarest specimens. Our Wyoming collection goes beyond the region's famous fossil fish to include Wyoming dinosaurs, alongside rare minerals and one-of-a-kind pieces from across the globe. We make our best effort to hand select and purchase every specimen, that we don't collect ourselves, directly from the source to bring you the best quality at the best price.
